September 6-week Harp Course
Glastonbury Fun Harp Orchestra – Mixed Abilities
A 6-week class on Wednesday evenings @ URC Hall, Glastonbury High Street, commencing September 13th. Starting either 6pm (Absolute Beginners Prep) or 7pm (Main Session).
An evening class teaching the basics of harp playing while having fun playing beautiful tunes in a group. This is a mixed ability class which will enable each participant to learn at their own pace.
The class will start with a 30min Absolute Beginners session, which is also an opportunity to prepare for the later session. This is followed by the main session which is for mixed abilities and includes absolute beginners.
6.15 to 6.45pm
Absolute Beginners Prep & Catch-up Session
This time slot will allow a quick introduction for Absolute Beginners, as well as some catch-up time for anyone wanting to recapture previously learned techniques. It’s an opportunity for the less confident players to prepare in more detail for the later session.
7.15 to 8.15pm
We work on one tune each week, learning a new technique while creating a harp ensemble with different parts to suit each participant abilities.
8.15 to 8.30pm
15 min slot to play pieces learned during previous sessions.
You can either choose to take the whole 6-weeks class or ‘drop-in’ on the individual sessions. However, please be aware that you need to slowly build up on the technique. Therefore, if you are new to the harp and are not doing the whole 6-weeks, then it is essential that you take part in the 6pm Absolute Beginners Session to enable you to join in with the Main Session. Booking is required.
